The Posterchildren

The Posterchildren is a YA superhero novel written by our favourite Kitty (tumblr user @quipquipquip), with focus on butt-kicking ladies, LGBTQ+ people and relationships, and minority issues. Basically, it takes everything that’s wrong about contemporary superhero comics and does it right. The above link goes to its IndieGoGo fundraiser page which has lots more info! Kitty’s #the posterchildren tag has daily character bios, print previews, and snippets of worldbuilding, as well as more thoughtful answers about her verse and products than you can shake a stick at; @Maillardets is an excellently concise roundup of the content on the aforementioned tag. Pre-ordering now, apart from guaranteeing you a copy of the book before it hits the e-store, has the additional bonus of everything is cheap as balls right now. Kitty is being unbelievably generous with her perks: the PDF is only $5 and paperpacks $15 ($25 signed!)--and, if you've got a high volume of dollars to spend, donating $55 or more gets you two paperback books, three ebooks, three art prints from the spectacular illustration team, and a silicone wristband like the ones the students wear in the book itself. Think about that really hard for a while, then immediately throw all your money at the project.

The novel is coming out in April, with a first print run of 1,000 copies already confirmed, but the more funds we’re able to generate by the 16th of January, the more incredibly awesome the perks and merchandise will be.

Seriously, if you’ve got the spare cash right now? Treat yourself. All the products described on the IndieGoGo page (check the Updates tab as well, for merch added later) will be available after the initial funding run is over, but I think it’s safe to say you won’t get deals quite as spectacular as what Kitty is offering right now.

i drew this as a sort of backup cover for the novel, but it will probably just be reconfigured as a print for the store! the text will be replaced by something hand-lettered since it’s being sold and that’s not my font, but I’ve been working on this for the past 8 hours consecutively and right now I just want to be done uvu
